Porsche 918

The Porsche 918 is a mid-engined plug in hybrid sports car from Porsche.

First shown as a concept car at the 80th Geneva Motor Show in 2010, with 2,000 declarations of interest shown then the development of the 918 Spyder was then approved to go in to production. The production car was then unveiled at the Frankfurt Motor Show in 2013.

The model beat the record of 7 minutes set for the lap at the Nurburgring achieving 6.57 minutes. The 918 fulfils its claim of being able to set records for top racing drivers, while at the same time being an uncomplicated sports car for everyday road driving. Production began in September 2013, sold out in December 2014, with production ending in June 2015
